| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic inscription in flowing Naskh calligraphic script, filling the entire field within a raised rim. The legend states the place of minting, denomination, and Hijri date, arranged in curved lines that follow the circular format of the coin. Star ornaments appear to either side of the uppermost line of text. The Hijri year 1327 is prominently inscribed at the base of the design in large Arabic-Indic numerals, underlined by a decorative rule. The overall layout is dense and formal, typical of late Ottoman Egyptian bronze coinage. |
