Reverse description Crowned oval shield bearing the arms of France — three fleurs-de-lis arranged two over one — flanked symmetrically by laurel and oak branches tied at the base, centrally placed in the field. The royal crown surmounting the shield is detailed with fleurs-de-lis and arches. The circular Latin legend, reading .SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTUM (Blessed be the Name of the Lord), encircles the design, with the date and the Paris mint mark A appearing within the legend at the base. The rim is defined by a continuous corded border.
