| Obverse description | Central device comprising an ornate cross pattée with a small pellet at its centre, the four arms terminating in stylised fleurs-de-lis and flanked by crowned C-shaped cartouches at the upper angles. The Roman numeral denomination marker 'XX' appears in the lower quarters of the cross, indicating the twentieth part. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design within a beaded border, the lettering partly obscured by the irregular flan edge typical of hammered coinage of this period. |

| Reverse description | Central shield of the composite arms of Philip II as King of Spain and Count of Flanders, displaying the quartered royal Spanish coat of arms surmounted by a crowned helm with a prominent mailed gauntlet or hand as the central charge. The shield is set within a field bordered by a circular Latin pious motto legend, separated by small ornamental stops. The entire design is characteristic of the early Habsburgian Netherlandish hammered coinage, with the legend running continuously around the coin's circumference within a beaded border. |
