Reverse description Reverse features the elaborate tuğra of Sultan Selim III prominently positioned in the upper portion of the field, rendered in the distinctive Ottoman calligraphic style with characteristic looping superstructure. Below the tuğra, two horizontal lines of Arabic script record the mint name Misr (Egypt) and the regnal year AH 1203. The legends read fi duriba Misr — 'struck in Egypt' — followed by the date. The overall composition is characteristic of late 18th-century Ottoman provincial gold coinage, with the tuğra serving as the principal identifying device of the sovereign.
