| Reverse description | Full-length frontal figure of Christ in Majesty, nimbed and robed, standing erect with right hand raised in benediction and left hand holding the Gospels, depicted within a beaded mandorla-shaped ellipse lined with small six-pointed stars and floral ornaments. The surrounding field outside the ellipse bears a beaded inner border and the Latin legend divided across both sides of the coin. The design follows the established Byzantine-influenced iconographic convention of the Venetian ducat and zecchino series, presenting Christ as the Light of the World. The reverse lettering references the Gospel of John (8:12), a tradition maintained on Venetian gold coinage since the medieval period. |
