Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Sun Yat-sen, founder of the Republic of China, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a Zhongshan suit collar visible at the truncation. The effigy occupies the central field, with a bold and naturalistic portrait characteristic of Sinnock's medallic style. A seven-character Chinese legend arcs around the upper periphery, reading from right to left, denoting the Republic of China and the regnal year. Two additional characters flanking the bust on either side complete the date inscription indicating the 24th year of the Republic.
