Obverse description Two crossed flags occupy the central field, each displaying the white sun emblem of the Republic of China on a triangular canton; the staffs are crossed and bound at center. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with rosette ornaments flanking the flags on either side. The Chinese legend reading 中華民國二十一年 (Year 21 of the Republic of China) is inscribed around the upper periphery, with the characters 年 (year) and 半 (half) appearing vertically along the sides. The coin's rim is reeded, consistent with milled coinage of the Republican period.
