| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field features the Portuguese royal arms: a quartered shield displaying the five escutcheons of Portugal arranged in a cross pattern, each bearing five roundels (quinas), enclosed within a plain border. The shield is surmounted by an ornate crown composed of arches and pellets, rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style characteristic of colonial Indian minting. The overall design is contained within an irregular, slightly rounded rectangular flan with no surrounding legend. The heraldic composition is deeply struck, with the shield occupying the majority of the coin's surface. |
