| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Emperor Haile Selassie I wearing a traditional Ethiopian imperial crown and draped in ceremonial robes, set within an open wreath of olive branches at the base of the field. A circular Ge'ez legend surrounds the effigy, giving the emperor's full title as King of Kings of Ethiopia, with the Ethiopian calendar date 1923 (= 1931 AD) inscribed along the lower rim. |
