裏面の説明 A horse galloping vigorously to the right, depicted with animated musculature, flowing mane, and all four legs extended in full stride. Beneath the horse, a short Iberian inscription in the Levantine semi-syllabic script appears in the lower field, serving as the mint or ethnic identifier. The design is contained within an irregular flan with no border, typical of hammered provincial bronze coinage of the Iberian Peninsula.

追加情報

The Cessetani occupied the coastal territory around modern Tarragona — Kese to ancient sources — and began striking their own bronze coinage under the watchful pressure of Roman administrative consolidation following the Second Punic War. These fractional issues were not prestige objects; they were working coins for a population being rapidly integrated into Roman economic networks, and the denominations reflect local purchasing habits rather than Roman metrological ideals.

The ACIP classification places this piece within a tightly defined series spanning roughly a quarter century of Cessetani civic output before Rome's progressive standardization made autonomous Iberian civic coinage increasingly redundant.
