Reverse description The reverse displays a three-line calligraphic mint and date legend in Persian Nasta'liq script, boldly struck and filling the central field. The inscription records the mint name Dar al-Saltanah Tabriz and the regnal year in Eastern Arabic numerals, accompanied by scattered floral ornaments in the field. The legend is enclosed within a raised inner circle with a second concentric line, the whole surrounded by a broad outer border of uniform raised beads matching the obverse. The spare, inscription-focused composition is characteristic of Qajar hammered gold coinage of this period.
