| Reverse description | Central field depicts a stylized castle with three towers, flanked by small rampant lions in the lateral fields, all set within a beaded inner circle — a design element reflecting the Castilian influence on this atypical issue struck at La Coruña. The surrounding Latin legend SI DOMINVS MICHI AIV (a truncation of 'Si Dominus mihi adiutor', meaning 'If the Lord is my helper') runs along the outer border. The flan is irregular and the relief is somewhat weakly struck, consistent with hammered billon coinage of Fernando I's reign. |
