The date 1624 appears in the field to the left of the shield. The circumferential legend JUL. CLIV. ET. MONT. DUX. COM. VELD. SPON. ET. RAV. D. IN. RAV. 1624. references Wolfgang William's additional titles as Duke of Jülich, Cleves, and Berg, and Count of Veldenz, Sponheim, and Ravenstein. The border is defined by a continuous beaded inner ring, consistent with the obverse.
