| 正面铭文 | SIGISMUNDUS · D : G · A · & · PR · SAL · S · A · L · NAT · GER · PRIM · 1769 (Translation: Latin, unabridged: Sigismundus Dei Gratia Archiepiscopus et Princeps Salisburgensis Apostolicae Sedis Legatus Natus Germaniae Primas) |
| 背面描述 | Central depiction of the Baroque triumphal gateway known as the Neutor or a ceremonial arch of Salzburg, rendered in careful architectural detail with rusticated stonework, a prominent arched passageway, and flanking pilasters surmounted by orb finials. Atop the entablature stands a crowned figure of Saint Rupert, patron of Salzburg, holding a sword and a vessel, set against a decorative cartouche with foliate ornaments. Two ornamental obelisks or fountains flank the structure on either side, with stippled background treatment filling the field. The Roman numeral date MDCCLXIX appears in the lower exergue, with the engraver's initials F · M · directly below, attributing the work to Franz Matzenkopf. |
