Obverse description Seated half-length figure of a bearded saint, nimbed and robed in episcopal vestments, shown frontally behind a horizontal ledge or table, holding a long staff or sceptre in his right hand; a orb or book rests on the ledge to his right. The date 1801 appears in the lower field beneath the ledge. The encircling Latin legend reads CAPIT: CATH: MONASTERIE: SEDEVACANTE 1801, separated by a small floral ornament at the top, all within a raised beaded border.
