Obverse description Saint George on horseback, thrusting his lance downward to slay the dragon beneath, depicted in dynamic rightward motion within the field. A small orb appears at the upper right. The surrounding circular legend, rendered in Latin, names the three co-ruling counts of Mansfeld and is separated by pellets or stops. The composition is bold and characteristic of early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage, with the saint's horse rearing dramatically over the prostrate dragon.
