Obverse description Central view of the facade of Salzburg Cathedral divides the date 16-28 in the field. To the left stands St. Rupert in episcopal vestments, to the right St. Virgilius, each as patron saints of Salzburg. Below the cathedral, the arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg are displayed, flanking the lower portion of the legend. The Latin legend, commencing at approximately 7 o'clock, records the dedication of the Metropolitan Church of Salzburg by Archbishop Paris von Lodron on 25 September 1628.
