| Obverse description | Armored bust of Emperor Maximilian II facing right, wearing an elaborate breastplate and imperial crown. The date is divided by the bust in the field, with 15 to the left and 76 to the right. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the effigy, reading along the inner border of the coin. The portrait is rendered in the detailed Germanic style typical of Joachimsthal mint production of the period. |
