Obverse description Central ornate oval cartouche bearing the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg in the upper half and the personal arms of Archbishop Markus Sittikus von Hohenems in the lower half, surmounted by a cardinal's hat from which pendant cords descend on either side. A cross rises above the cartouche. The peripheral Latin legend, commencing at approximately two o'clock, is interrupted at the base by decorative ornaments, while the date 1612 is divided by the cardinal's hat at the top of the design.
