Obverse description Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia facing right, depicted in a youthful effigy with an elaborate curled coiffure and a low décolleté neckline with lace trim. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Baroque court style. The circular Latin legend reads M THERESIA D G around the upper field, continuing R IMP GE HU BO REG to the right. The coin features a milled edge visible at the rim.

Reverse description A double-headed imperial eagle displayed, each head surmounted by a separate crown and both heads beneath a large central imperial crown. The eagle bears on its breast an elaborately quartered composite shield of the Habsburg dominions, incorporating the arms of Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, and Tyrol, with a small Vienna city shield at centre. The eagle's wings are spread and detailed with fine feather engraving. The circular Latin legend ARCHID AUST DUX to the right and BURG CO TYR with the mint date to the left frames the design.
