| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, her hair elaborately curled and dressed, wearing an imperial mantle with ornate brooch at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine baroque detail, occupying the central field. The surrounding Latin legend reads in abbreviated form across the full circumference, recording her titles as Empress of the Romans, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, and Countess of Tyrol. The coin features a beaded inner border. The overall portrait style is characteristic of the early Viennese baroque engraving tradition. |

| Reverse description | Full-length crowned figure of the Virgin Mary as Patrona Hungariae, standing facing, holding the Infant Jesus on her left arm and a sceptre in her right hand, surrounded by an elaborate radiate glory of long, pointed rays emanating from her figure. At her feet, centered at the base of the design, appears the crowned Hungarian arms shield. The mint mark 'K B' (Kremnica) is positioned to the left of the Virgin, and the date '1746' appears in the upper field divided by the figure. The circumferential Latin legend identifies her as 'Sancta Maria Mater Dei Patrona Hungariae,' and a beaded inner border frames the entire composition. |
