The fractional denomination indicator appears at the center of the field. A circular legend reading 'Sanctus Rupertus Episcopus Salisburgensis' runs around the periphery, beginning at approximately 12 o'clock, with a mitre device interrupting and dividing the legend at the top. The date of issue is incorporated into the reverse legend. The overall design is characteristic of early seventeenth-century Salzburg ecclesiastical square klippe coinage. |
