| Reverse description | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, bearing on its breast a two-fold escutcheon of the Habsburg-Castile arms. A small shield at the base of the eagle contains the pinecone device of Augsburg, serving as the mint mark. The encircling Latin legend around the eagle cites the imperial titles of Charles V (Karl V), Holy Roman Emperor, in the abbreviated form conventional to sixteenth-century German imperial coinage. |
