The shield is flanked by decorative acanthus-leaf mantling. The whole central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin siege legend disposed around the circumference between the beaded border and an outer dentilated rim. The square klippe flan exhibits pronounced corner projections characteristic of emergency hammered coinage. |
