| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Karl Joseph Prince Batthyány, depicted in elaborate armour with ornate decorative collar and ribbon bow at the neck, his hair styled in curled fashion typical of the mid-18th century. The effigy is finely engraved in high relief and occupies the majority of the coin's field. The engraver's signature I. TODA appears at the lower truncation of the bust. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, running along the toothed border. |
