| Obverse description | Central six-fold quartered shield of arms of Duke Julius of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, surmounted by three ornate crested helmets with elaborate mantling. The shield displays the dynastic quarters including Brunswick lions rampant, Wolfenbüttel, and associated territories. The heraldic composition is rendered in the bold Renaissance style typical of late 16th-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, citing the titles of Duke Julius. |
