Obverse description Central field occupied by the large quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, displaying the saltire and Mohrenkopf (Moor's head) of the Khuen von Belasi personal arms alongside the traditional Salzburg episcopal devices. The shield is surmounted by the pontifical mitre and crossed crozier and sword, symbols of archiepiscopal authority. Two rampant lions serve as supporters flanking the escutcheon. A six-pointed star ornament appears at the base of the shield in the lower field. The circular Latin legend, separated from the design by a ropelike beaded border, reads: IOAN IAC D G ARCHIEPS SALZ A S L, abbreviating the archbishop's name and titles.
