Obverse description Central depiction of a two-towered church facade, with the city arms of Hamelin displayed within the entrance portal. The original date of issue, 58 (for 1558), appears divided between the two towers. A Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded border, reading MONETA NOVA CIVIT Q H AME 58, identifying this as the new coinage of the city of Hamelin.
