Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Frederick II (Frederick the Great) facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair tied in a queue and laurel wreath. The portrait displays characteristic Baroque engraving style with elaborately sculpted drapery at the truncation. The circumferential legend reads FRIDERICUS BORUSSORUM REX (Frederick, King of the Prussians), disposed around the upper and lower periphery of the coin field.

Reverse description The Prussian eagle displayed, with wings spread and head turned to the right, wearing a royal crown above its head. The eagle is depicted perched atop a trophy of arms consisting of military accoutrements including drums, cannon, and standards, symbolising Prussian martial prowess. The circumferential legend 2 EINEN R.THALER (2 to one Reichsthaler) arcs across the upper field, flanking the eagle. The date, incorporating the mint mark letter A (Berlin), appears in the lower exergue as 17A66.
