Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Friedrich II (Frederick the Great) facing right, his hair dressed in curls and tied with a ribbon at the nape. The king wears plate armor adorned with the chain of the Order of the Black Eagle. The circular Latin legend FRIDERICUS BORUSSORUM REX runs along the upper periphery, while a mintmark appears at the lower truncation of the bust.
