| Obverse description | Bearded bust of Duke Frederick II of Liegnitz-Brieg facing right, wearing a cap and fur-trimmed mantle with decorative collar, rendered in high relief in the Renaissance style typical of mid-16th century Silesian coinage. The effigy is contained within a beaded inner circle that separates the portrait from the surrounding legend. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRIDERICVS D G DVX SILESIE LIGNIC ET BREGENSIS, identifying the issuer by name and title, with stops separating the abbreviated words. The flan is irregular, consistent with hand-hammered production. |
