| 背面描述 | Saint Christopher depicted standing, bearing the Christ Child upon his left shoulder and holding a tall staff in his right hand; to the right, the ducal arms appear within a decorative frame. The entire composition reflects the devotional iconography common to early seventeenth-century German coinage. A Latin peripheral legend records the imperial decree of Rudolf II authorizing the coinage. |

Frederick I of Württemberg spent years lobbying the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II for an elevation of his territory's status, finally securing the duchy title in 1599 — a political victory he marked aggressively through coinage. The 1606 half thaler falls within this early ducal period, when Frederick was deliberately expanding his mint output to project the new rank across the region's trade networks.
Frederick died in 1608, making the window for his ducal issues narrow.
