Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Franz I facing right, rendered in high relief with fine portraiture detail. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and a plain collar, with his hair dressed in the neoclassical manner. The circumferential legend reads FRANCISCVS I. D. G. AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR in raised Latin letters. The mint mark A appears in the lower field beneath the bust truncation. The overall composition is characteristic of the refined neoclassical engraving style employed at the Vienna Mint in the early nineteenth century.
