Aanvullende informatie

Franz Anton von Harrach served as Archbishop of Salzburg from 1709 until his death in 1727, presiding over a court that rivaled many secular principalities in cultural ambition. His tenure coincided with the final phases of the War of the Spanish Succession, which strained the finances of virtually every ecclesiastical state in the Holy Roman Empire — Salzburg included, despite its considerable salt revenues from the Hallein mines.

The Zöttl range covering five die varieties across this type suggests consistent but not prolific output from the Salzburg mint over the thirteen-year span.
