Obverse description Right-facing laureate bust of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I (Franz I of Lorraine) rendered in high relief, with draped shoulders and naturalistic portraiture consistent with mid-18th century Habsburg coinage. The legend encircles the effigy, commencing at approximately 7 o'clock, with the crown of the head bisecting the inscription at the top of the flan. The lettering is in Roman capitals separated by interpuncts.
