Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Francis I facing right, rendered in a neoclassical style with fine detail in the hair and laurel wreath. The neck is bare, with a ribbon tying the laurel at the rear. The encircling Latin legend reads FRANC I.D.G.AVST.IMP.HVNG.B.L.V.G.L.IL.REX.A.A., denoting his imperial and royal titles. The mint mark 'A' for Vienna appears in the lower field beneath the truncation.

Reverse description Glorified and crowned radiant Madonna seated on a crescent moon, holding the Christ Child on her left arm, both figures surrounded by a nimbus of rays emanating from behind. The Madonna is depicted in a frontal pose wearing regal robes and a crown, in the tradition of the Patrona Hungariae iconography. The encircling Latin legend names her as Patron of Hungary, and the date 1830 appears at the base of the legend.
