正面描述 Draped and armored laureate bust of Emperor Ferdinand III facing right, wearing a laurel wreath and elaborately decorated armor with intricate relief work. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the characteristic baroque style of the period. The legend encircles the effigy along the rim, reading from the left. A mintmaster's mark or initial appears in the lower right field.

附加信息

Ferdinand III inherited the Bohemian crown in the shadow of the Thirty Years' War, and Joachimsthal — the mint town that gave the world the word "dollar," via "Joachimsthaler" — remained active through the conflict despite repeated regional disruptions. The Peace of Westphalia in 1648 ended the war midway through this type's production run, meaning coins from the earlier dates circulated in a devastated economy while later dates entered a slowly recovering one.

KM#437 spans nearly two decades of output from a single mint, and date collectors working this series encounter genuine gaps — not all years within the bracket were struck.
