Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Ferdinand I facing right, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. The effigy is unadorned save for the laurel wreath, with the emperor's name and titles arranged in a continuous legend commencing at approximately 7 o'clock. The obverse field is smooth, with no exergual line or additional ornamental devices.

(Translation: Ferdinand I, by the grace of God, Austrian Emperor, King of Hungary, Bohemia, fifth of that name.)
Reverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed at center, with wings spread and each head facing outward, bearing the shield of Austria on its breast and the denomination numeral at center. A continuous Latin legend encircling the design, commencing at 12 o'clock, records the emperor's additional royal and ducal titles. The mint letter and date appear within the legend at the base of the reverse field.
