Reverse description Crowned quartered coat of arms of the Palatinate electorate occupying the central field, with the arms of Bavaria (lozengy), the Palatinate lion, and other dynastic quarterings, flanked by elaborate Baroque mantling and supporting the interlaced cypher of Charles Theodore at the centre. The crowned shield ensemble is supported by ornamental cartouche work. The legend AD NORMAN CONVENTION is divided across the upper field, with the date and mintmaster initials AS placed in the lower exergue area. A beaded border frames the entire design.
