Obverse description Central field depicts Albert of Hohenzollern, Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, rendered as a standing armored figure facing front, holding a sword in his right hand and a shield bearing the Teutonic cross in his left. The figure is surmounted by a crested helmet above which appears an eagle displayed. Flanking the central figure are heraldic supporters. The entire central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by the Latin legend reading ALB • D • G • ARCHI • PRVSS • ET • MARCH • BRAND • DVX • PRVSS, identifying Albert by the grace of God as Archbishop of Prussia, Margrave of Brandenburg, and Duke of Prussia.
