Obverse description Armored and laureate bust of Emperor Ferdinand II facing right, depicted in three-quarter profile with a ruffled collar visible beneath the armor. The bust is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style typical of Kipper-period emergency coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading FERDINANDVS II D G R I S A G H B REX, identifying him as Holy Roman Emperor and King of Hungary and Bohemia. The field is flat and unadorned, with the legend running close to the coin's irregular rim.
