| 裏面の説明 | The field of the reverse is dominated by a wreath of laurel and olive branches, tied at the top with a decorative ribbon bow and bound at the bottom, encircling a three-line inscription in the field. Within the wreath, the Latin motto IUSTITIA ET CONCORDIA is rendered in two words on separate lines, followed by the date 1780 with a stop, all in capital serif lettering. The plain, unadorned field within the wreath gives prominence to the civic motto, reflecting the Enlightenment republican ideals of the issuing city-state. The overall design is austere and dignified, characteristic of late eighteenth-century Swiss cantonal coinage. |
