Obverse description Three ornate heraldic shields arranged in a triangular composition, the uppermost shield bearing the Imperial double-headed eagle of the Holy Roman Empire, flanked by elaborate foliate and laurel branches. The two lower shields display the civic arms of Schwäbisch Hall — a cross and a hand respectively — supported by decorative scrollwork. The date 1777 appears in the lower exergual area flanked by the engraver's initials, with the mint mark below. A continuous Latin legend encircles the entire design within a beaded border.
