Obverse description A rampant lion facing left, crowned, brandishing an upright sword in its right forepaw and supporting with its left the oval shield of Zürich bearing the city's bipartite arms (per fess azure and argent), all set upon a ground line within a plain inner circle. The encircling Latin legend reads MONETA REIPUBLICAE TIGURINAE, rendered in raised capital letters between the inner circle and the milled border.

Reverse description A finely detailed bird's-eye panoramic view of the city of Zürich, depicting the Limmat River crossing the centre of the composition with a covered bridge and a tower at mid-stream, flanked on either bank by the city's principal ecclesiastical and civic buildings including the twin-towered Grossmünster to the right and the Fraumünster spire to the left, with a small boat navigating the river in the lower field. The date 1758 appears in an ornamental cartouche at the lower exergue, and the Latin toponym TIGURUM arches along the upper border in raised capital letters.
