Reverse description Central device consisting of the royal arms of France — a shield bearing three fleurs-de-lis arranged two over one — ensigned with a royal crown and flanked by two crowned Hs (the royal monogram of Henry II), all within a circular legend. The date appears in the upper field, and the mint letter is placed in the exergue below the shield. The reverse legend reads XPS VINCIT XPS REGNAT XPS IMPERAT, the traditional Christogram acclamation. The overall composition is typical of the teston and demi-teston coinage of the Valois period.
