| Reverse description | Central field features the crowned oval shield of France, bearing three fleurs-de-lis arranged in the traditional French royal arms (semé de France), surmounted by an elaborate crown with fleurons. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, flanked on either side by small crowned fleur-de-lis ornaments. A continuous Latin legend encircles the composition in the outer field, referencing the Psalm 115 devotional motto. The overall die work is characteristic of the hammered silver coinage produced at provincial French mints during the reign of Francis I. |
