| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse field is entirely occupied by the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) rendered in bold, interlaced naskh-style Arabic calligraphy. The central legend reads the Kalima — there is no deity but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah — executed in a characteristic Bengal Sultanate style with deeply cut, interwoven letterforms that fill the flan. A circular marginal legend runs around the periphery of the coin, separated from the central text by a faint inner border. The hammered flan exhibits a slightly irregular outline, typical of medieval Bengal coinage, with darkened fields contrasting against the raised silver lettering. |
