Obverse description Central field bearing multi-line Arabic script in bold, angular Tughra-influenced calligraphy, occupying nearly the full flan. The legend includes the regnal title and name of Sultan Nasir ud-Din Ahmad Shah I, rendered in raised relief against a flat ground. The date AH 832 (1429 CE) appears as part of the inscriptional field. The irregular flan edge and die-struck lettering are characteristic of hammered billon coinage of the Gujarat Sultanate.
