正面描述 Square flan with bold Arabic calligraphy executed in the Tughra style typical of Malwa Sultanate coinage. The field is divided horizontally by a raised line into two registers, each bearing Arabic inscriptions in high relief. The upper register carries a portion of the royal legend, while the lower register continues the inscription. The lettering is bold and angular with flourishing terminals, characteristic of the hammered silver coinage of the Malwa Sultanate in the early sixteenth century.

附加信息

Muhammad Shah II ruled Malwa through a period of mounting pressure from the Lodi Sultanate to the north and Gujarat to the west — pressures that would eventually erase Malwa as an independent polity entirely within a generation of this coin's striking. The Malwa sultans maintained a recognizably orthodox Sunni monetary tradition, with denominational fractions like this half tanka serving the practical demands of a regional market economy rather than any ceremonial purpose.

The GG and DR references align this piece within a well-documented but sparsely surviving series. Half tankas from Malwa are considerably scarcer in the market than full tankas from the same reigns.
