Obverse description Square flan with bold Arabic calligraphy executed in the Tughra style typical of Malwa Sultanate coinage. The field is divided horizontally by a raised line into two registers, each bearing Arabic inscriptions in high relief. The upper register carries a portion of the royal legend, while the lower register continues the inscription. The lettering is bold and angular with flourishing terminals, characteristic of the hammered silver coinage of the Malwa Sultanate in the early sixteenth century.
